Burl Richards didn’t discover his passion in a classroom or a chance encounter; it was rooted in the family legacy. Stepping into a paint booth at the age of 12, Burl’s destiny was always intertwined with the world of vehicles. Inspired by his father, Ed, who was an adept vehicle painter, Burl envisioned himself mastering the art just like his progenitor.
The body shops became Burl’s playground, offering him invaluable firsthand insights into the intricate facets of collision repair. Guided by his father, whom he reveres as his greatest mentor, Burl transitioned from buffing vehicles to sanding and finally to painting them. Every compliment on a paint job he executed bolstered his confidence, propelling him further into mastering his craft.
His love for cars, especially hot rods, and an ambition to excel, steered Burl into the collision repair industry post his dedicated service in the Air Force. Aware that passion alone wouldn’t suffice to run a successful venture, he equipped himself with essential business acumen, understanding the nuances of managing a team, ensuring quality control, and efficiently liaising with insurance entities.
Fast-forward to today, Burl’s determination and skills have culminated in the success of three esteemed shops and a car restoration company, all testament to his dedication in an intensely competitive landscape. His ventures—All-Star Collision Center, Henderson Collision Center, and Burl’s Collision Center are synonymous with excellence.

He exemplifies this belief in his role as the president of the Auto Body Association of Texas (ABAT). Actively championing industry causes at both regional and national scales, Burl is a formidable advocate, representing body shops in crucial legislative affairs within Texas.
